Strontium Metabolism, Strontium Metabolism, Proceedings of the International Symposium on Some Aspects of Strontium Metabolism held at Chapelcross, Glasgow and Strontian, May, Edited by Lenihan J.M.A., Loutit J.F., Martin J.H. Academic Press. London–New York. The following radionuclides have been determined: 90 Sr, Cs, Ra, Po, and the stable elements calcium, strontium and potassium. The results obtained cover a wide range. Statistical analysis proves the existence of systematical and accidental errors, the first being easier to identify than the second.

Abiotic stress, including metal excess, can modify plant metabolism. Here we investigated the influence of long-term strontium exposure (12 weeks, – mM Sr) on the content of phytoestrogens and allantoin as well as the mineral composition in soybean. Seven phytoestrogens were identified in the soybean: daidzin, glycitin, genistin, malonyldaidzin, malonylgenistin, daidzein, and coumestrol. The third edition of the Encyclopedia of Toxicology presents entries devoted to key concepts and specific chemicals, and is updated to reflect current advances in the field. It contains new information on nanotoxicology, epigenetics, persistent organic pollutants, computational toxicology and bioinformatics, controversial chemicals, and much more.

Strontium‐90 is one of the most poisonous radionuclides. Its toxicity results from its long half‐life of years and permanent deposition in the blood‐forming bone system.

Strontium‐90 is formed in high yields during the nuclear fission of uranium‐ and plutonium‐ 4 Recent studies found an influence of Sr 2+ ions on the Wnt/ β-catenin pathway.
